Long serving as Buick's flagship full-sized sedan, the Roadmaster commenced production in 1935. The longest break in the model's production history occurred when production stopped for a 33-year period starting in 1958. In 1991, Buick relaunched the Roadmaster nameplate for a 6-year run to great fanfare. Initially launched as only a wagon in 1991, Buick added a sedan option in 1992. The Roadmaster was the first and only rear-wheel drive sedan offered by the brand in more than half a decade. It would go down in history as one of Buick final offerings of rear-wheel-drive, full-sized V8 power and luxury.
